2022: Year in Review

2021 was an incredible year for BLB Design / Build. 2022 was even better. Not only did we have and complete more projects than ever before, but we also took a giant leap forward with a complete business rebrand. We’re incredibly proud of how BLB has grown this year. Read on to see how 2022 has been our best year yet!

The Rebrand

Our most significant accomplishment of 2022 has been the company rebrand and the transition from BLB Custom Building to BLB Design / Build. At the start of this year, we worked with Kelsy Stromski of Favor the Brave to create a complete company rebrand, including a new logo, website, fleet vehicles, and more. The name change, while maintaining BLB, signified the company’s transition from a single employee to a team of highly skilled professionals with connections in the design and architectural sector. At the end of this year, the rebrand received a Silver Award for the Best Digital Marketing Campaign from the BRAGB MA PRISM Awards.

While BLB represents my initials, BLB Design / Build is so much more – it is a company of dedicated industry leaders, committed to building out the dreams of North Shore homeowners.

The Projects

Of our 34 active projects, we completed 18, including the Modern Kitchen, Riverview Refresh, and the Todd Farm Kitchen & Bath Remodel. The ability to complete several projects while continuing work on active job sites was only possible with our fantastic in-field crew. Working through rain and shine, our highly skilled carpenter team put in over 11,300 hours of labor and helped us achieve our project goals.

Like previous years, we completed more kitchen + bathroom projects than any other category – with kitchen/baths averaging 33%. The whole house and exterior categories tied for second, each with an average of 22%. Both additions and commercial projects averaged 6%, with another 11% of our total projects going to miscellaneous jobs.

Community + Recognitions

This year, we also had the opportunity to work closely with several local businesses and community organizations. In the fall, we were honored to be a part of PRO New England‘s Youth in Remodeling Career Day. Over 600 students from eight trade schools across the state attended and participated in hands-on, interactive, and experiential activities relating to the residential trades. We met with many enthusiastic students who participated in our “Build and Demolish a Deck” activity station. Our team members happily volunteered their time at a variety of other community events including the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce‘s Trunk or Treat, Girls Inc, and the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce’s Block Party. We also sponsored the Amesbury Open Studios Tour and Newburyport PTO Kitchen Tour and donated two carpenters for a day to support the Newburyport Education Foundation’s Annual Lighthouse Auction.
