After purchasing this gorgeous fairway-front property, our clients reached out for assistance renovating the interior of the sophisticated home. The former owners had an eclectic design style that clashed with the new owners’ contemporary cosmopolitan vibe. Out of the 5,600 sq. ft., we refreshed over 75% of the house, including new hardwood floors, fresh paint, and upgraded plumbing and electrical fixtures. While a majority of the floor plan remained the same, we adjusted select walls and openings throughout the first and second floors to improve functionality and optimize our clients’ daily lives.

While the former design choices and elements were not up to par, the existing floor plan worked well with the new owners. The entire refresh happened within the original layout of the first and second floors of the home. With minor interior adjustments, including widening the cased opening between the formal and informal sitting areas and removing unnecessary doors, we transformed this house without any structural work.

TRANSITIONAL DESIGN

Transitional design is a perfect blend of traditional and contemporary styles. This style incorporates classic elegance while introducing modern lines and angles. While the decor is essential, this style lets the furniture and textures do the talking. Our client, a retired interior designer and real estate agent, flexed her creative muscles to marry traditional with contemporary.

PRE-FINISHED FLOORING

Rather than installing unfinished hardwood to sand later and finish, our client opted for pre-finished European Oak flooring throughout the first and second floors supplied by Warren Christopher. The benefits of pre-finished flooring include an expedited floor installation process and reduced cost compared to unfinished hardwood. Additionally, pre-finished flooring is versatile enough to lightly sand and rebuff to keep the floors looking as good as new forever.
