BLB Design / Build is Honored with Three Awards
Earlier this month, BLB Design / Build humbly accepted three prestigious awards, including two from the Professional Remodeling Organization New England (PRO New England) and one from the Chrysalis Awards for Remodeling Excellence.
Following a competitive competition with hundreds of companies across the United States entering their projects for a Chrysalis Award, BLB’s Joppa Flats Front Porch Addition received a Regional Award in the Outdoor Living Over $100,000 Category.
While nothing was improved structurally, the team vastly enhanced the cosmetic look of the property. Designed by Latady Design, the 500+ square-foot Front Porch features a barrel roof with hip extensions, custom curved mahogany crown molding, six 8′ tall Roman columns, and flat-welded and standing seam copper.
This is the third consecutive year in which BLB Design / Build has won an award, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to excellence.

JOPPA FLATS FRONT PORCH ADDITION
Situated across the street from Joppa Flats in Newburyport, the homeowners of this water-front home were looking to increase their outdoor living space while also capitalizing on their Merrimack River views and increasing the already-stellar curb appeal.
The Front Porch not only won a Chrysalis Award but also took home a Gold Award at the 2022 PRO New England Awards.
On June 1st, members of BLB’s leadership team attended the 2022 PRO New England’s Award Gala Celebration at the Clarke Showroom in Milford, MA. The Front Porch was honored with a Gold Award in the Residential Exterior Category, with judges noting the exceptional craftsmanship and woodwork details.
On the tail of the Gold Award, BLB was honored with a second award of the night for the Second Story Addition. Receiving the Silver Award in the Residential Addition $200,000 and Over Category, the project included a drastic transformation from a 900-square-foot ranch-style home to a 1,800+ square-foot Colonial.
Designed by Vesta Architecture, the Second Story Addition featured a new first-floor mudroom, an enlarged family room, and an additional three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
SECOND STORY ADDITION
Originally a 900-square-foot ranch, this project vertically added another 900 square feet of living space for a young, growing family. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms were added, along with a redesigned first-floor for increased functionality and miscellaneous second-story features to optimize the new spce.
